Committed to Faith in God & Growth in Spirit.
Our walk of faith begin in January of 2003 with the Lord leading Glenn and Denise to the Living Word Christian Center, after watching the Believer’s Walk of Faith television broadcast, the T.V. ministry of Dr. Bill Winston. On January 19, 2003, their lives changed forever.
Together they confessed Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and received water baptism and baptism of the Holy Spirit at LWCC. After successive seasons of Discipleship and Intercessory Prayer Training, Glenn and Denise separately discerned the call of the Lord into the ministry of the gospel. In 2005, Glenn received his heavenly calling as a pastor and attended the School of Ministry and Missions and graduated from the SOM&M. During a Missions trip to the Country of Panama in 2006, the Holy Spirit began to reveal to Pastor Glenn a word from Ecclesiastes 8:4 “Where the word of a king is there is power”. This word was a seed for the 1st church plant. Kingdom Word International Christian Center, which was soon after incorporated. The first meeting was held in February of 2008 in the Hazel Crest American Legion Hall, 4 persons attended.
Pastor Glenn continued serving as a volunteer Minister under the leadership of Dr. Winston, receiving hands on training through personal observation, studying and participation in multiple helps ministry areas. The Lord spoke to Minister Denise more in depth about her calling and encouraged her full support of their life calling together to preach the uncompromised word of God. Denise also began serving as a volunterteer minister at Living Word Christian Center.
During this time of preparation, prayer and fasting in January of 2011, Glenn received instructions from the Holy Spirit to began searching for doors of opportunity and favor. A school gymnasium would serve as that open door. After studying and meditating on the Book of John chapter 14, instructions were given to change the name of the church. Greater Works Church International was birth. Changing the name lead to a shift in church identity and signified a change of direction. 16 persons attended the church plant service and 7 local families joined over a three month span. This included 25 youth who came to know Jesus as Lord at the Greater Works Church International. Pastor Glenn received a Ministerial license through Faith Ministries Alliance and a prayer covering by Dr. Winston. Pastor Denise also attended and graduated from the School of Ministry. 2012 began a season of Confirmation.
In 2014, the Church was faced with a decision to move from the school location. Without a physical facility for a 12 month period, the Pastors began having morning prayer and experiencing encounters with the presence of the LORD. During a period of strategic prayer and warfare at their residence, key ministry components were being developed, implemented and birthed. The search for a new open door, having their own facility began. Pastor Glenn petitioned the LORD saying “Lord, if you open up the door, we will walk through it. Show us where to go, who to talk to and give us what to say”! The LORD answered and the Holy Spirit lead Pastor Glenn across the Illinois state line into the Northwest side of Hammond, Indiana. During this time of strategic prayer and study of the word of God, it now was becoming manifestation time.
The door opened up at 4807 Oak Avenue in Hammond, Indiana. A 3000 square foot facility with 2 levels, continue to serve as the headquarters for Church. The Church name was changed to Greater Works Christian Center International to identify with a relaunch, a clarified mission and Vision.
